As much as I sympathise with Chakagirl ('Keep your grouses off the street', April 26), I have to ask why the writer had to use Indonesia as a benchmark to make Malaysia look good.

There would have been greater effect if she had used some corrupt regimes in the African continent instead. But is that what we want?

We close our eyes to all the injustices around us so that we can live in peace like the proverbial frog under the coconut shell.

Being a simple youth, please have some patience to understand that in a democracy, the other side has the right of choice as well. And they have chosen to support the opposition, as evidenced by the increase in popular votes during the last election.

One day you will no longer be the youth you are today and will confront the issues of government mismanagement, corruption... read the newspapers.
