KTMB’s mission reads as the following:

  • Be the preferred land transportation system by providing safe, efficient and reliable integrated rail services for people and goods.

We will:

  • be competitive and responsive to market needs.

  • achieve our goals through a highly-trained and motivated workforce using modern technology and process innovation.

  • provide reasonable profit and long-term growth to shareholders.

    • Yes, that’s what we, the KTM users have been asking for. We definitely want a safe, efficient and reliable service. We want KTM to be competitive and be responsive toour needs. We want KTM to focus on training and motivating its workforce so that they can minimise technical or human slip-ups. We want KTM to stop making losses and provide reasonable profit to its shareholders so that eventually the public will also benefit by having a good transport system.

    We do not want to pay for a train service which is never on time. We do not want to pay for cancelled train services and go through a period of uncertainty for the next train. We do not want to pay for a train service which would make us look and feel like canned fish. We do not want to pay for a train service which would chuck us in its ‘frying pan’ without air-condition throughout our journey. We do not want to pay for a train service which would make us arrive late for work only because the train failed to be on time.

    Though KTM’s mission sounds like a mockery for users like me at the moment, yet that’s exactly what we want. We request the transport ministry to provide us with a KTM service which epitomises all that have been stated in its mission. Maybe the transport ministry needs to re-strategise, restructure and re-organise KTM Berhad. We prefer to use KTM services compared to a much jammed-up road transportation which could be very stressful and take a much longer time. But we can only maximise the usage of KTM Komuter if the transport ministry starts giving due attention to KTM services which we feel it has neglected all this while.

    Mentally, we are tired of KTM’s inefficiency and unreliability. So now, can we request the new team in the transport ministry to take some quick measures to improvise the current KTM service? The ministry also needs to study and come out with some long-term action plans to have an overall efficient and reliable integrated rail services for the rakyat .

    Finally, we sincerely want KTM to move towards its mission and not to regress further.
