I find it puzzling that there is a lot of debate on what is wrong and what is right in our beloved country among the society's elite. There appears to be a presumption that the elite will do something to correct a wrong if it satisfied that it is a wrong. Really? I am afraid that is not true, otherwise how do you explain the continuous plunder and rape of our rights under Dr Mahathir Mohamad's governance!

The truth is simply that the elite of our society remains a bunch of intellectual masturbators whose concern for the truth is merely that, intellectual. Ask them to speak up, they cite the Internal Security Act (ISA). Ask them to risk detention, they cite family responsibilities. Ask them to take a risk with their votes, they cite fear of the potentially bigger devil!

The sad truth is, it is the elite that will make the difference in any bid to stop the rot. But the elite is content to be armchair analysts, after a nice round of golf at the club in a 'politically stable' environment by the kind courtesy of Mahathir.

Dogs in the manger should just shut up and eat your steak. Your lengthy discourse on what is right and what is wrong is lending credence to a farce. Let us working class people handle it our way. But by that time please do not complain of the traffic jams caused by our picket lines.
