I would like to believe that the DAP now and before is different. But I realised how wrong I was after reading the report, 'University intake ratio breached for decades: DAP' (May 14), for DAP is still a strong Chinese chauvinist party.

DAP is now more inclined to argue everything which catches the headlines along the racial line. Evidently, this has not changed as far as this political party is concerned. Providing lop-sided statistics in order to support its arguments is very narrow-minded, biased, ill-founded and not to mention misleading.

If DAP is honest in protecting the rights of all Malaysians, why not comment on the ratios of bumiputra to non-bumiputra students at private colleges and overseas universities, doctors, engineers, accountants, lawyers and other professionals?

Clearly the motive of DAP has nothing to do with the plights and predicaments of our top scorers but merely to gain votes.

By doing this, DAP has destroyed whatever hopes left for our young and talented students for it will surely help divide us further, the Chinese becoming more Chinese, Malays becoming more Malay and Indians becoming more Indian.
