I could not believe my eyes when I read The Star (the only newspaper that I read nowadays) yesterday about the release of the two ISA detainees by the Shah Alam High Court. What a relief! There is still hope of a free judiciary in our beloved Malaysia.

I did not expect that the court would come to such a decision. I am sure the majority of Malaysians are very happy and most us do not want the ISA and the other laws that are against freedom and human rights. They are remnants of the colonial era.

Malaysians must be thankful to Justice Mohd Hishamudin Mohd Yunus for his courage in delivering a right judgment. His name together with that of Justice Shaik Daud Mohd Ismail (the Court of Appeal judge who upheld former police chief Rahim Noor's jail sentence for assaulting Anwar Ibrahim) will go down in our nation's history. I salute both of you.
