We wish to thank Denis, who wrote 'Punish the real culprits, not Nanyang Press' (June 5). We totally agree that whoever who objects the transaction of the Nanyang Press' stake should punish the real culprits, i.e. Hong Leong Group and MCA, and not boycott Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press .

We, the staff of Nanyang and China Press , are innocent. We have no say over the direction and ownership of the newspapers. Please be informed that any boycott will affect our interests.

There are more than 2,000 staff in the Nanyang group. Any action that affects the profitability of the company or worst still leads to the closure of the group will affect us and our families.
