I refer to the Malaysiakini report Ezam warns Anwar: I will reveal your dark secrets .

I am very concerned about the hurling of accusations from one politician to another motivated by the relentless quest for power, and Ezam Mohd Nor’s recent outbursts in the press. Let us talk about Ezam first. I think the biggest loser is Ezam on his rejoining Umno. He is not sure where to position himself now.

Before rejoining Umno, Ezam was hurling lots of comments about how corrupt certain politicians in Umno are and how inefficient the party is. Now on rejoining Umno, he has threatened to expose all the 'bad deeds' of Parti Keadialn Rakyat’s Anwar Ibrahim, Wan Azizah, and other party leaders.I hope he does that sooner rather than making threats to expose these misdeeds.

Any bad deeds and wrongdoings by any politician must be exposed. Why wait? There is no need to threaten to expose. The common people do not know what is going on at these powerful meetings of the ruling political parties that affect the livelihoods of the ordinary Malaysians on the street. If Ezam has the facts about any misdeeds, he should expose them immediately.

Everyday, we see Ezam, Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Umno politicians trying to outdo one another in the championing of special Malay economic opportunities and we will continue to see racial disunity in the process.

Instead of talking about racial equality of opportunities, we see Ezam, Mahathir and Umno politicians trying to outdo one another to win the minds of the Malays to gain power. In the process, we will see a disunited Malaysia as all this talk of NEP and special economic and education opportunities for Malays creates second-class citizens among the non-Malays who do not have access to these economic opportunities.

Ezam should likewise expose all the corrupt practices of any politician in Umno without fear or favour. Before rejoining Umno, he said he had information about the corrupt practices of certain Umno ministers past and present.

What has happened to these follow-up investigations and why are you, Ezam, keeping mum on these Umno politicians now? Please Ezam, if you have any information about the wrongdoings of any politicians, please expose them for the people to see even though they could be from Umno or PKR. There is no need to threaten.

Next would be the hurling of accusations of the alleged involvement of Najib in the Alantuya murder and the sodomy allegation against Anwar. Our country is not on the right track. The people are suffering. Everyday we see lots of accusations hurled from one politician to another.

While politicians from the opposing parties fight for power to govern, the people suffer. The main problem is also Anwar’s constant talk of crossovers by Barisan MPs to Pakatan Rakyat. I think Ezam is also part of a ploy to prevent the crossovers of Barisan MPs, if any.

If Anwar does not have the crossover MPs in hand, please say so now and do not cause further damage to the Malaysian economy as such talk creates economic uncertainty. Do not wait till Sept 16. Implement the crossovers immediately and be done with it. If there is no crossover, say so now.

The sodomy allegation, which will take several years of court processes, should not delay the crossover plan as Wan Azizah can be the PM. Anwar does not have to be the PM. But then most Malaysians, including me, do not believe in that sodomy allegation.

The rakyat sympathises greatly with Anwar, who in 1998 had to endure the near-fatal and brutal physical attacks by the ex-IGP while policemen, and probably others, stood by and watched. And Mahathir came out to say maybe he inflicted the wounds on himself!

That was unbelievable. Our country should always pause and reflect poignantly on situations like that. We are really in a mess when weak people are brutalised by people on the top who are entrusted to uphold the law.

The new sodomy allegation appears - in the minds of most people - to be an attempt to stop the momentum of Pakatan Rakyat in forming the next government. But why should Pakatan be bothered by that if indeed Pakatan has the numbers?

Anwar’s sodomy allegation should not delay the process. Do it soon and be done with it. If Pakatan does indeed form the next government, it should rein in PAS which does not know where the priorities of a ruling government should be.

Rather than focusing on improving the economic prospects of Malaysians, it still talks about implementing Islamic practices and laws in the country which should be the least of the priorities of a ruling party.

Also, if Ezam has the stories of the misdeeds or wrongdoings of Pakatan and Umno leaders, do not wait. Expose them now. Just because he is now in Umno, he should not shield any Umno politicians.
