Now that the MCA delegates have let their voice be heard, it is time for the Chinese community to respond! It is obvious that the MCA as a party has lost touch with the wishes of the people it wishes to represent.

That the majority of the delegates, no matter how thin the majority was, had voted in favour of something so contemptible to the minds of the community has shown that the MCA has lost its right to speak out on behalf of the Chinese. That the delegates, after hearing president Dr Ling Liong Sik's constant backtracking and lame answers to questions, actually still supported his motion have shown that they lack the intelligence as well as the integrity to lead the community.

Surely they should have known that even the reticent Chinese guilds not to mention the general public have almost all voiced their objections to the idea. Surely they must know that Ling's explanation that Huaren Holdings is not the property of MCA is nothing short of an insult to the intelligence of the people he so claims to lead.

But then again I should withhold myself from attacking those who voted in favour. We cannot blame mentally-challenged sheep for doing what is natural for them to do, follow blindly. Actually, I take that back - I have nothing against sheep, even mentally-challenged ones. At least they have the sense to not follow the doomed shepherd off the cliff.
