It is most refreshing to read the Federal Court's decision of the appeal by Zainur Zakaria. Justice has again triumphed. I feel that the remarks by Justice Dato' Abdul Malek Ahmad are very apt bearing in mind how the prosecution was taken over by Justice Augustine Paul in the High Court. Every right-minded judge knows that he or she should never go down into the arena and take over either the prosecution or the defence. But then we know who Augustine Paul is, don't we?

In the light of what was said about Augustine Paul and if he has any maruah (pride) at all, he should tender his resignation from the judiciary. The judiciary can do without the likes of him.

As for Abdul Gani Patail, I would urge upon the present Attorney-General to institute disciplinary proceedings as the Federal Court has in fact found that prima facie he attempted to fabricate evidence for the purpose of a criminal trial. The actions of Gani and Paul shows beyond a shadow of doubt that they tried to pervert the cause of justice and this is what the people are complaining about.

The guilt or innocence of the accused is not the issue any more but rather the manner the whole episode was handled left a very bitter taste in everyone's mouth.

If it can happen to the former deputy prime minister, what more we, ordinary people.

Please remove these two before they do more damage to the image of our beloved Malaysia.
