Keeping track of the current Malaysian politics is like watching TV soaps; we look forward to see what happens next, how the story will end, and if the ending would match with our speculation.

What I am going to write is merely a personal opinion, and it's just a 'maybe thing'. I would like to speculate on the 'sodomy-no sodomy’ current situation.

Saiful alleged Anwar sodomised him, he's prepared to swear on the Quran because he believes this is so. Yet findings from the first medical examination showed no evidence to support his claims.

I remembered how Saiful seemed calm, had good eye contact and even smiled and waved at the reporters when news first broke out about the alleged incident.

It was like he wasn't emotionally traumatised by the alleged sexual assault on him. It was as though he liked the massive attention on him.

Of course, it could also reflect his good ability to cope with difficult feelings. He had a history of being a student leader, so he claimed, dropped out from varsity, and claimed he had been in contact with many VVIP's even before Najib (this is from what I recalled reading in the papers).

Now we are faced with his sodomy claims with yet with no physical findings to support. If Saiful was sodomised, the Pusrawi Hospital doctor would have picked up fresh signs of injury because Saiful saw the doctor quite soon after the alleged incident, but there weren't any signs of injury.

So what can we speculate on? That Saiful has lied about this whole story and that it is completely fictitious?

If this is true, why would he want to do this? For attention and fame (infamy), for money, act of revenge? If Saiful did not lie, could he be suffering from a delusional disorder?

From what I know, delusions are fixed, false beliefs and people who are deluded would act on their delusions, and that can explain why Saiful would willingly and confidently want to swear on the Quran that Anwar sodomised him.

Is Saiful a mentally troubled young man? Have we all been mistakenly drawn into someone's delusions?

Well, this is just to trigger off more questions into this ‘sodomy or no sodomy’ situation. I'm really looking forward to the next episode of the 'Government vs Anwar' series of the Malaysian politics.
