Love my country, fear my government
The arrest of a second student leader under the ISA removes any doubt of the Barisan Nasional government's desperation. It is a bleak time for Malaysia, as if it isn't bleak enough already. Again, 'national security' is being used as the reason for the detention.
It makes me want to scream to the Home Affairs minister, or perhaps, the acting Finance minister, "How low can you go?".
If the Malaysian police (PDRM) is really concerned about the security of all Malaysians, perhaps they should spend more time and resources investigating real crimes and arresting real criminals.
While writers and students are being arrested, daylight and highway robbers operate with impunity. While a former university lecturer is being detained, environmental rapists are being rewarded handsomely. Only in Bolehland !
A bumper sticker I saw recently sums up my feeling about the present situation in Malaysia: 'love my country, fear my government'.
