I agree with JJ Smith ('Damansara highway a disgrace', July 6). The Damansara highway is, in fact, dangerous to motorists. Junctions are too close to bends and road signs are too near the exit and confusing as well.

Once, I was following a lorry on the left lane towards Intan from Section 16. The lorry suddenly changed lane and before I knew it, it was too late for me to decide which lane to go to and ended up going into the Kerinchi link instead of my route to Damansara Heights, as I would have knocked into some workers still working by the road side without any barriers protecting them otherwise.

The highway is just too narrow at practically every junction or exit point, most especially the one to Jalan Johar/Jalan Beringin, Jalan Damansara near HELP Institute and Section 17.

Now, are we to accept this dangerously constructed highway, or demand an immediate upgrade, or just reject the product and return it to the developer? I believe in this case we have a right not to pay for a shoddy product until it is made good!

Does the highway authority have any say in checking the quality of the privatised highway before toll can be collected or is it not covenanted in its agreement? I hope the elected representatives wake up and do not fail our faith placed on them. Don't let these civil servants eagerly privatise the whole country.
