A lot has been said about PAS and their goal to set up an Islamic state in Malaysia. As a true follower of Islam, I am in agreement with their set goal.

But in order to achieve this goal PAS must have a kind of promotion to tell people why an Islamic state is good. They cannot simply say "because the holy Quran says so".

Unlike Saudi Arabia or Iran, Malaysia is a multi racial nation and a democratic one. Furthermore Islam has been put on the negative light by the western media for so long.

So PAS should understand why their proposed goal is met with fear and anger from their allies in Barisan Alternatif.

But from my observation, there is a lack of constructive discussion by PAS to allay the non-muslim fear. They are more concerned with what DAP has to say.

So in my humble opinion, rather than getting involved in this useless debate between PAS and DAP, PAS should make their top priority to educate the Malaysian citizen what Islam really is.

This is where PAS intellect like Hassan Ali, Harun Din, Nik Aziz and Haji Hadi come to play by explaining what an Islamic state is all about.

In order for the non-muslim to subscribe to Islam, they must be convinced first that this product (Islam) is good. So I propose a discussion about Islam in an independent forum like malaysiakini .
