I am writing in response to the report that MCA will explain the 'threat' of Islamic state. MCA's energy should perhaps be channelled towards tasks of more substance.

The idea of setting up a special unit to 'make' the Chinese community understand the Islamic state concept, lest they be misled, is a rather condescending one.

The Chinese community is definitely capable enough on its own to make an educated judgment vis--vis the potential "damage that an Islamic state can have on a multi-religious society". All we really need is more of a free, impartial and responsible press.

So, MCA, kindly sell all your stake in Nanyang Press. Left alone, the community's wisdom will find a way.

The truth is out there.
