Which human being is totally faultless? For MCA Youth chairperson Ong Tee Keat to openly challenge the party president in an undisciplined manner is not only unfair to the president, but also an insult to the wisdom of the MCA delegates who elected him. And for Ong to sack two talented and dedicated MCA youth leaders just to show his displeasure of the president shows that Ong is very petty and autocratic. Ong has decided to sacrifice the future of the party for his own wild ambition.

By speaking repeatedly and openly on that "no leader is indispensable" and on the theme of "one-man rule", Ong also indirectly caused harm to our beloved Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Is Ong a PAS or reformasi secret agent in MCA and Barisan Nasional?

MCA president, Dato' Seri Ling Liong Sik, whatever his few shortcomings as a human being, has built up the party financially and organisationally for the past 15 years with patience and tremendous personal sacrifice.

Where was Ong when Dr Ling worked hard to raise enough money to save the party headquarters in the late 1980s and early 1990s? What was Ong's contribution? What did Ong do for the setting up of the TAR College and now Utar (Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman)? Did Ong raise a sen for the benefit of the Nipah virus victims?

The decision of Dr Ling and his trusted and tested comrades to take over Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press will certainly benefit Ong as an MCA member of parliament because without the Chinese newspapers, it would be very difficult for the party to spread its message to the Chinese community.

Why did Ong oppose something that is good for the party and he himself? Dr Ling certainly had the interests of the party in mind when he fought against all odds to take over Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press . Ong should thank the president, instead of criticising and downgrading him publicly.

It is time for the party to be united and get rid of selfish and individualistic leaders like Ong Tee Keat. I suggest that the MCA central committee firmly and decisively discipline Ong for his indiscipline and disloyalty to the cause of the party, Barisan Nasional and the Chinese Malaysian. Ong should be sacked by the central committee, and comrades Yew Teong Look and Loh Seng Kok be reinstated to their original positions in MCA Youth committee.

Dr Ling, it is time not to be soft, but firm and decisive for the survival of the party.
