It is totally insane that our prime minister continues to choose the ISA as an easy way out to curtail any resentment to his rule.

Does he expect us to actually believe that the 10 arrested under the ISA are in any way associated to the so-called Mujahidin Movement or Terrorist Act?

If Dr Mahathir Mohamad strongly believes that they are truly a 'terrorist' group, he should stick by the rules of fair-play. Charge them in an independent court and let the court decide, minus any potential 'advice' to the judiciary.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is another step to maintain his legacy and as a political survival tactic. But the more he suppresses his opponents, the stronger their resentment will grow and the further he will alienate the rakyat from him.

I am no politician. I must say he has done good to the country after 20 years in many fronts, in particular the stability of the economy which I believe may form his legacy.

But the good is now very much outweighed by his infamous economic blunders (the three bailouts of BBMB, the Bank Negara fiasco, Perwaja, Renong-UEM deals, MAS bailout, to mention a few only) and not to mention political boo-hoo that has made him a mockery, the country, too, in general.

After the kangaroo court ruling on our ex-DPM Anwar Ibrahim with regard to the sodomy and abuse of power charges, does he expect the rakyat to buy his story entirely?

My advice to Dr M (if I may) is: Either step down now to save yourself and your Umno party from catastrophic defeat in the general elections to come or release Anwar on grounds of deteriorating health or whatever you can 'invent'.

I know it is hard for a doctor to accept a patient's (the rakyat 's) advice, but the truth is the 'patient' continues to dwell in sickness caused by no other than the doctor's own poor prescription for treatment. Therefore, Dr M, please relinquish diligently your duty as a practitioner in order for the other 'patients' who have been 'cured' by you to keep your legacy alive.

As for other patients in the future, please don't be alarmed as many 'doctors' are now capable of attending to the patients.

Dr M, please rest in peace and enjoy your legacy while you still have it.
