With reference to your report 'MCA to investigate cause of ruckus'(Aug 6), there is no doubt that the riotous behaviour of some of the MCA Youth delegates reflects to a certain extend the MCA and BN political culture. They do not reason things out. When they run out of ideas, they just get violent and aggressive like the road bullies or wife beaters. It is very unhealthy for the country and our children.

To be very frank, I was very embarrassed on Saturday when my Year Six son asked me what the photographs published on the front pages of The Star and Sin Chew Jit Poh were about. I just could not tell him that it was a meeting of a government party.

Perhaps, the police should move in to investigate if there was any criminal or triad elements involved in the riot. The police should not keep quiet as if nothing has happened. Peaceful citizens like us have high expectations of the police to arrest and charge those MCA Youth leaders and members involved in the riot. Otherwise, why should we pay our taxes to keep the police forces?

Also, the disciplinary committee of MCA, headed by Dato' Seri Lim Ah Lek, should immediately suspend the membership of those rioters whose faces appeared in the photographs. They should explain their riotous behaviour before they could be re-admitted into the government party.

What kind of country do we have if leaders and members of a government party can riot openly and with impunity like the Ang Men or Wah Kee triads? Is Malaysia turning into Sicily where the Mafia forms the government? I pray not.
