I will definitely admit we are heading into a new era. With Anwar Ibrahim obtaining an overwhelming majority, things are now in motion for the betterment of Malaysia. Now that the rakyat has chosen the uncertainties associated with the Deep Blue Sea (Anwar), as opposed to the known evils of BN/Umno, we shall have at least an opportunity for reform.

I sincerely hope we will put aside our race and focus on genuine actions to steer our country to being a respectable nation. We have seen how BN policies and as well as BN responses have made us the laughing stock of the world.

With BN at the helm, who needs comedy and sarcasm? Let us all move towards a buffoon-free nation where plans are well thought out. There must be a share of the pie for everyone under the Malaysian sun.

Without a doubt, racial integration is hopeless whenever there is still justified discrimination. It's even more disappointing when this justified discrimination is used time and again to ever divide the population along racial lines.

There has to be better policy that is fair to everyone, without having to stomp on minority rights as well as Malay rights. Hopefully Anwar and Pakatan Rakyat will figure it out. It's hopeless to wait for BN to get this concept rolling amongst themselves.

The Malays who still feel the need to emphasise ‘non-Malays robbing Malay special rights’ have to come to terms with the reality of the new Malaysia, and the new global economy. Ego and lack of self-confidence will not help you move ahead. A century from now, you will be where you are today. It won't be a favourable ending for you, not to mention the whole country.

Finally, the only thing you will do is to blame others but yourselves. Do examine whether you have already tried your best to be the best. It's not really a matter of how good you are. It's a matter of how good you want to be.

Let there be equitable growth for everyone. The entire Malaysian citizenry is a humongous team. You can be assured that exceptional team players who are not rewarded will be disgruntled and decide to either sabotage the team by not performing to best of their ability, or decide not to share valuable experiences and knowledge with the rest of the team. This is human nature.

As much as one would like to deny this fact, maybe you should experience it for yourself. You definitely don't desire the best in your team to leave the team, in other words, emigrate out of the country. Guess which organisation loses when it's devoid of cream of the crop.

Mahathir complains we do not have the joy in celebrating Merdeka anymore. That's a very good observation. I guess he still doesn't realise it is all thanks to him, not Abdullah. Mahathir has single-handedly destroyed the nation and raised suspicions amongst races. To this day, that effect is still evident.

Well, I hope that this nation will turn out to be better than before, hopefully under Anwar and PR governance. Let us once again feel proud to be Malaysians, irregardless of race. I long for the day to tell everyone I am a Malaysian first and foremost, my ethnicity second.

Only fairness and justice will bring about changes to this country. Polarisation and discrimination has not benefitted this country over the past half century. A new dawn awaits and I hope to see a Malaysia reborn and stand proud amongst nations of the world.

Let us not parade falsehoods as achievements any more. Do not fool ourselves and more importantly, let not buffoon politicians blind us and deprive us of a united Malaysia.

I hope to celebrate Merdeka with pride next year, ever so proudly calling myself a Malaysian, a genuine Malaysian. This year, I will celebrate Anwar's victory and have with me hope that Malaysia is at its turning point to reverse all the non-beneficial and dividing policies of today.
