I wish to refer Chuan Chew ('Secular' does not mean 'anti-religion', Aug 6) to one of the many definitions of secular. The following is from the Cambridge Dictionary Online: "Secularism is the belief that religion should not be involved with the ordinary social and political activities of a country."

This contradicts the belief of many Muslims. This is why secularism has become a dirty word in Islam. Try to get into many websites that promote secularism. You would find that their main opponent is religion.
