Politician untouched, layman jailed
I would like to respond to Gopi Kurup's, 'Unseemly sign of the times' (Aug 14) in which he 'hailed' the reproof on obscene gestures made in the public. As much as I do not condone these childish acts, I must say that the Polis Diraja Malaysia has once again shown themselves to be "
berkhidmat untuk Barisan Nasional " (to serve BN). They are no longer the keepers of peace of the Malaysian people. When a member of the public does that, he is reined in and subsequently arrested. When a politician does it, we are supposed to excuse him because "he was provoked"? There were even pictures of the politician showing it (obscene gestures) to the public. Where were the police when that Umno politician, Adnan Yaakob, was campaigning for the Sanggang by-election?
Again, a very obvious act of partiality and the disparity gets larger. The discontentment will boil over and justice for the people will finally be obtained.
