Our beloved country is sick. As an average wage earner, I am deeply distressed and troubled by the fact that all the ruling government and the opposition are interested about at this point of time is the struggle of power.

It does not matter if Pakatan comes into power by Sept 16 or if Barisan retains power for years to come. What matters is that our economy is about to crash in light of the recent de-stabilisation of markets across the globe that was triggered by the sub-prime crisis.

As of today, has any one the faintest idea of what the revised 9th Malaysia Plan can do to help cushion the recession? Multi-million or billion ringgit projects can never be successfully implemented to realise returns within a short period of time.

Many analysts have already highlighted that Q32008 is the time where economies will start to collapse one by one across the globe. Look at the markets now, what do you all see?

Yes, it is already happening.

Rebates for road tax will not save the rakyat . Every single average income earner will tell you that inflation has been around for a long time and it is probably higher than the 7.7% that is being reported.

Many of us has been scraping by every month trying to make ends meet but all we do is to dig ourselves into a deeper hole of debt.

The majority of the working population in Malaysia are low to average income earners. Interest rate hikes will curb overspending but it will also make us sink deeper in our debts.

When the economy slows down even further, massive layoffs will happen, driving the rakyat into a bottomless pit.

At the end of the day, we will be hit by stagflation whereby the whole economy grinds to a halt.

Malaysia is really sick now. What are her doctors doing about it?

Please stop all the drama, the country's well being is at stake. Long term plans will not save us today.
