Mujahideen is not a dirty word

As a Muslim, I felt very sad that the word Mujahideen was associated with militancy and portrayed in a bad light. Religion teaches us that Mujahideens are promised 'jannah' or heaven; fighting for a holy cause, for the words of Allah.
The newspapers have cast such a bad light on them that it would seem as if the government, who controls them, is trying to send a message that Mujahideens are bad and so too the fight for Islam. Exposure to such news every day will produce a lasting impression that Islam is bad.
I appeal to the authorities to stop corrupting the people's minds with regard to Islam. It is very sad that the people hating Islam the most are not the Jews or Christians but Muslims themselves.
