Blood-sucking life insurance companies
I am absolutely disgusted that an insurance company had refused to pay compensation to a girl, Amrita Kaur, who was paralysed from chest downwards due to a go-cart accident on Dec 31, as reported by NST on Monday. The girl is now 14.
The reason forwarded by the insurance company for rejecting Amrita's claim was that she is not "totally disabled". According to Amrita's father, she cannot even walk or go to the toilet by herself. How much more "disabled" must she be before she is eligible to claim?
The 'life' insurance industry is the kind of a blood-sucking business which goes against the grain of a caring society. These insurance companies have their actuarists compute all permutations/risks and at the end of the day 'life policies' are totally skewed towards the profitability of the insurance companies. When they go for your premiums, they go to such lengths to convince you that it is for the protection of your family and love ones. But the moment someone submits a claim they will always try to find ways to reject it.
I just hope the company will change its mind for Amrita's sake.
