'Re-cond' BN leaders no match for Anwar
I refer to the Malaysiakini report A 'second-hand car' named Anwar.
Dear YB (BN-Silam),
Please take note that Anwar Ibrahim may not be a 'Mandela' or a 'Gandhi' (and incidentally, neither are your buddies in the BN) but he, right now, is the best antidote anybody can have to address the serious excesses that are plaguing the BN.
BN leaders might appear unperturbed in the electronic media (they are sandiwara specialists anyway) but they’re sure are having sleepless nights over his next move.
As for your 'second-hand car' anology, I seriously doubt it will hold water in any book as you have conveniently overlooked the fact that there are quite a number of ‘re-con’ ones in the BN stable itself.
Hey! Our own prime minister himself is a ‘re-con’ car. Remember the 'Team A, Team B' episode when he was sacked by Dr Mahathir Mohamad?
Didn't he make a comeback? Doesn't he qualify as 're-con'?
What about two former Selangor menteri besar trying to make a comeback? One was convicted but acquitted but his 'car was a write-off' while the other had his 'car all bashed and mangled' in the last general election but is still attempting a comeback via an Umno Youth ticket.
And what about the newly-elected MCA deputy whose recent victory might see him re-entering parliament?
Wasn't his 'car’ banned from the roads for ‘dangerous driving'? If given the 'green-light' by the BN, won't he be making a grand re-entry with 'renewed pistons'?
As for Anwar Ibrahim, the term 'mangled past' simply does not apply. Remember, his 'car' was 'deliberately ambushed' and 'beaten-up' by powers beyond his control and not his own doing unlike the ones in the BN stable.
YB sir, in future, I would strongly suggest you adhere to the dictum 'make sure brains are engaged before putting mouth into gear' before you venture to point out the beam in another man's eye when you have a beam in your own.
