This letter is in response to Brother Su's letter 'Militancy propaganda is pure Machiavellian' (Sept 7). Su probably has not heard of the Talibans and the hardcore Muslim extremists in Kashmir.

The former has imposed the so-called Muslim ruling prohibiting women to work, destroyed the famed Buddha statue and insists that the minority Hindus wear a certain insignia to distinguish themselves from the Muslims.

If these rulings are so benevolent, why are there so many Afghan refugees? Ironically, most of them are Muslims.

Likewise women in Kashmir were horribly disfigured when they refused to put on the veil.

I am not saying that the Christians are blameless for some of the abuses happening in the past or present. Neither am I saying that all Muslims are bad guys.

Although PAS professed to be a moderate group, at times they do exhibit a certain degree of those hardcore mentality such as suggesting that women should not work at night. Does this draw up any parallel comparison ?

The recent activities by some of the Muslim groupings is definitely a cause for concern.
