I can't agree more with SAB's letter about militants pursuing their militancy and terrorism under the name of Islam ('The unnerving justification for militancy', Sept 8). Be they Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu or whatever faith, people who seek to gain legitimacy for their political struggles under their respective religious banner are not only downright deceitful; they are giving religion a bad name.

The struggle for peace, justice, freedom, equity and independence need no religion for it to be legitimate.
