So the US got attacked. Is this what happens to a superpower or any ruling authority if it failed to see the injustices of its own actions? Is this the price of arrogance? Why are so many more tears shed and grief expressed for the dead in New York City and Washington DC than in Palestine, Iraq, Kosovo or Chechnya?

What is the value of a human life? It seems like the loss of innocent human lives is more grieved in America than in any other nation. Aren't human emotions universal? So, why is it that the cries of victimised mothers and children seemed louder in the US?

If the American citizens and their leadership have ever grieved for the loss of thousands of innocent lives they have advertently or inadvertently taken, then Americans would not need to grieve this human disaster that befell them. What the US leadership does next will show the world if it has learnt anything about the pitfalls of practising double standards.
