The adjective "Islamic" means conformity and submission to the basic tenets of Islam which absolutely forbids the killing of innocents, suicides, and destruction of property that sharply contradicts the meaning of "terrorists" or "terrorism".

Thus, the phrase "Islamic terrorist" or "Islamic terrorism" reflects and reveals the users' sheer ignorance, callous insensitivity, or perhaps, motive to antagonise Muslims around the world and defame Islam.

Could this then be the undeclared war of words on Islam as in the persistent equation of "fundamentalists" with "extremists" since the fundamentals of Islam forbids extremism of any form and the repetitive pairing of "Muslim" as an adjective with the noun "terrorists"?

In essence, there can be no real understanding and respect for a religion if its fundamentals are not fully understood and subjected to the constant and brutal assault coupled with distortion by the western media who manufacture them and the eastern media who parrot them.

Grappling with a religion's basic terminology during this precarious time does very little to project sincerity and build the confidence of Muslims that a war is indeed not being declared upon their religion. "Mind Your Language", a title of a television programme in the 90's, sums it up well on the prerequisites towards world peace.
