I just wish to answer Marina Yusoff's "Danger in getting political mileage from terrorist attacks" (Oct 1). Why is it that we hear of 'Muslim' terrorists, but when Christians or Jews are responsible, we do not hear about 'Christian' terrorists or 'Jewish' terrorists in the news? I keep hearing the same question being asked.

The answer is quite simple. The 'Muslim' that are responsible for terrorist acts identify themselves as such. They are the ones that keep invoking the name of Islam and Allah. Even when two Muslim nations fight (e.g. Iran and Iraq), they call it 'Jihad'.

Timothy Mc Veigh did not claim that what he did was done on behalf of Christianity. The IRA do not call it a war between all Roman Catholics and Protestants. It is a war between Irish Catholics and Irish Protestants. Neither side invoked the name of Jesus in their fight.

The Tamil Tigers never called it a fight between the Hindus and the Buddhists. Make no mistake about it. I do not equate such violent acts with religion. I am not an expert on religions but I do not believe that there is any religion that does not advocate peace and love. I believe that Islam does not permit the killing of innocent people. Perhaps good Muslims should condemn those that make use of the name of Islam in such a manner.
