With reference to XYZ's letter, 'Disappointed with PM's stand on terrorism', (Oct 2), the writer failed to say that the article in the Economist which stated that the Malaysian government has business relations with Osama bin Laden's family also made the point that Osama's family has formally severed links with him (although individual members of that family may still support or sympathise with Osama).

The Economist stated that the business transaction in question concerns the recent construction of an airport, which I understand to be KLIA in Sepang. This is an important point that I feel has to be made so as not to create the false impression that the Malaysian government has had direct business relationships with Osama.
