Dr Mahathir was right about Western neo-imperialists
Chng's letter, 'Strings attached to American aid' (Oct 2), is very agreeable to me. Allow me to add a few more points.
What Chng said is not much different from what Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had been telling us Malaysians since the outbreak of the Asian financial crisis and the election of George W Bush as the president of the United States last year. Many Malaysians seem to have forgotten those inspiring and foresighted words of our beloved prime minister.
For example, Mahathir correctly attacked the International Monetary Fund as the tool of the US neo-imperialists and a small group of ultra-capitalists like the rogue speculator, George Soros, in Wall Street. We were also told not to be agents of any foreign powers, especially the United States which determines to conquer the world by gunboat diplomacy, or economic domination as in the case of Indonesia.
The premier also warned us against the propaganda tool of the neo-imperialists, like the CNN, which merely aims at brainwashing the minds of the people of the Third World, including Malaysians.
He also courageously warned us against the unjust financial architecture and the industrial-military complex manipulated by the US and the West to serve their selfish-interests to the detriment of the developing countries. How far-sighted Mahathir is!
At that time, many Malaysians just boycotted the mainstream newspapers for publishing the truth about US hypocrisy and Western neo-imperialism. Now, we see how true these facts of life are in the world today.
It is time we Malaysians rally around Mahathir for his anti-US, anti-imperialism and anti-neo-colonialism struggle. It is time we give support to Mahathir for developing a strategic alliance with China, Iraq, North Korea, Libya, Afghanistan and Syria to counter the Anglo-Saxon neo-imperialist alliance of the US and UK.
