In response to Yusuf Abdul Rahman's letter, 'US is the greatest terrorist nation' (Oct 6), I would like to state that the US and her western allies have been contributing help all these while to Muslim countries such as Somalia and Bosnia a few years back.

The writer called the US the "greatest terrorist" based on the amount of money the government spent each year in acquiring weapons. Malaysia and Indonesia also acquire arms and train their soldiers to be operation ready. Does that mean we are terrorists, too? Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan and Egypt acquire a lot of arms too. Are they terrorists?

If the US had wanted to use arms to terrorise the Muslims and the rest of humanity, it would have done so in a big way a long time ago.
