Unfortunately from recent statements, PAS leaders are continuing with their mission to implement hudud laws when it comes to power through an nalliance with its partner parties.

Even though PAS could not implement hudud on its own, this mere mention that it would implement hudud will drive then non-Muslims (ie, the non-Malays) away from PAS in the next general elections.

The electorate does not like uncertainties, and when PAS talks about hudud,, that is good enough to drive away the non-Muslims. And PAS will lose seats and win fewer seats without the support of non-Muslims.

DAP and PKR will lose many seats in the next general elections if they cooperate with a PAS that insists on hudud. So, they will not partner with PAS and the Pakatan Rakyat will we weaker without PAS.

The likelihood of Pakatan then forming the next federal government will be much weaker.

Therefore, if PAS insists on hudud and though it is committed to governing without corruption and with transparency, and effective policies, PAS, PKR and DAP can forget about forming the next federal government. It is a dream.

If PAS said it is committed to Islamic principles and will govern without hudud but will insist on transparency and just and secular policies, PAS, PKR and DAP will form the next federal government and win many more states in the next general elections.

These principles of anti-corruption, transparency and business-friendly policies are all consistent with Islam. All these policies will benefit all the Malaysian people.

The choice is up to PAS. The electorate is still very concerned about the weak Judicial Appointments Commission, the anti-corruption commission etc. They do not consider these as genuine reforms.

PAS, PKR and DAP could form the next federal government if PAS could put aside hudud . If not, PAS should not dream about forming the next federal government.

MCA, MIC and Umno will win more seats in the next general elections, and they will recapture all the states lost in the previous general election. The choice is indeed up to PAS.
