Take care of our own backyard first
Just because the writer of ('War is Afghanistan's best chance', Oct 9) has met a few Afghans in the US doesn't mean that most Afghans welcome the US attack on their country.
War is not the answer to the current event and will certainly not be unless reliable evidence is produced by the so-called 'guardian of human rights'...America.
For the author to say we must protest only "if the US failed to facilitate the reconstruction of Afghanistan after the fall of Taliban", then, I must remind the author that the US government was the one that gave the Taliban their strength in the past.
The US failed once. Must we allow them to make the same mistake again?
By saying this, I must stress that I'm in no way in favour of PAS. PAS' method of protesting is surely not in favour of Malaysia and Malaysia must not become involved in this war; not because we lack the Islamic spirit or are cowards, but simply because we must take care of our well-being first before we are to concern ourselves with others.
