The United States must realise that freedom and peace, which it so staunchly professes, cannot be achieved on its own soil at the expense of inequality, oppression and war on others. The eluding peace which is so badly wanted now than ever has no doubt been torpedoed by its very own foreign policies.

Only when the US can overcome its political wills and courage to review its foreign policies, particularly that of the unresolved Palestinian issue and its position with Israel, will peace prevail. This peace would prevail not only on its own soil but also on the entire planet.

If it does so, it is going to be a great and magnanimous honour indeed for the US to be able to be in such a position to yield such an influence that will bring about peace, not just small peace but world peace!

Right now in the aftermath of the Sept 11 attacks, anger, revenge and vengeance seem to be the order of the day. For the moment, all peace loving fellow humans can only pray that no more innocent lives are lost as pawns in the on-going tit-for-tat game.
