I refer to the letter, 'Peace only through tolerance' (Oct 17), by Araj. While I strongly denounce the terrorist attacks on Sept 11, I find it amusing for Araj to say that the mere fact "that Osama himself praised the Sept 11 attacks after the US launched its retaliation on Afghanistan can be construed as implicit evidence that he was the mastermind behind those attacks".

Has anyone heard about the rule of law that says "a person is innocent until proven guilty"? Osama could be an evil person, but he is also entitled to the said rule of law.

The only parties who claimed to have the evidence about Osama's crime are the British and the US who investigated the case. Unfortunately, besides being the 'investigation officers' of the case, the US and British also proceeded to become the 'prosecuting officers' and the 'judges' in this case and they subsequently find Osama guilty. Now they are carrying out the sentence on him.

If we go according to Araj's views, peace can only exist in the Middle East if the Palestine people tolerate the Isreali's terrorist acts on the Palestinian land. Is he blaming the Muslims as being intolerant as the cause of the Middle East conflict? I suggest he read his history book on the Middle East before sharing his views with us.
