I note that many of your reports and letters thrive on MCA-bashing. I think the internal affairs of MCA should not be interfered with by outsiders, i.e. non-MCA members including supporters of Umno, Gerakan, DAP, PAS, Keadilan and MIC. Every party has the right to conduct its own affairs the way it sees fit and those who are not paid-up members and are not entitled to vote and be voted in MCA should keep quiet.

Through its hard work, MCA under the leadership of Dr Ling Liong Sik has earned enough money to purchase Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press for the benefit of the Chinese community. What rights do non-MCA members have to protest? If they do not like to read MCA-owned newspapers, they can stop buying and reading them. Read Rocket , Harakah and Berita Keadilan instead! It is that simple.

Why are these critics so intolerant and bigoted? If they are hardworking enough, surely they can earn enough money to start operating their own newspapers. Why be a sore loser in life? Be more positive and constructive.

One thing I surely cannot understand is that some English readers of malaysiakini have no courage to attack the Umno-controlled English and Bahasa Malaysia newspapers, but choose to criticise Chinese-language newspapers they do not know how to read. What logic is this? Mind your own business, English-educated Chinese! Attack the New Straits Times , Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian , not Nanyang Siang Pau , China Press or Sin Chew Jit Poh ! You have your turf, we have ours.

Also, the fact that Umno-controlled newspapers are giving prominent coverage to Lim Ah Lek, Chua Jui Meng and Ong Tee Keat shows that these ungrateful Chinese leaders are backed by Umno to smear and overthrow Ling. The reason is simple: Umno does not want to see a united and strong MCA with its own colleges, university, newspapers and community centres. A united and strong MCA can fight for more Chinese rights and oppose the Islamic state.

It is time the ethnic Chinese wake up to the fact that since our population is declining fast, we should unite under a strong and united MCA to protect our rights against the encroachment of Malay chauvinism and Islamic fundamentalism. Otherwise, there is no hope for the Chinese in Malaysia.
