Arrogant assumption behind criticism

It frightens me to read Shukri Yusof's comments ('When love is blind', Nov 11) on Bakri Musa's well-meant article about emulating what is best and practical from the West. The writer sounds like a spokesman for the Taliban and he pre-supposes that Muslims have no need to learn from anyone else. How arrogant can one get? That is a sure way of going backwards.
