It is sad that MCA has degenerated into the present state of anarchy. It is all due to one man's hubris and ego.

It is time brave MCA leaders like Lim Ah Lek, Chua Jui Meng and Ong Tee Keat take bolder moves to clear up the mess by staging another round of public road shows not only for MCA members but also for the Chinese community in general. Otherwise, we would just be fooled by the papers under MCA control into believing that they are "trouble-makers" and "ungrateful rebels".

Already, there are manufactured rumours that Chan Kong Choy will replace Chua Jui Meng, Ong Tee Keat will not be appointed as a BN/MCA candidate in the next general elections, and Pahang state committee will be revamped by the central committee. The power of rumours should not be underrated.

I am also of the opinion that, although Lim, Chua and Ong should always be co-operative with Umno and other component parties of the Barisan Nasional, they must not forget that politics in BN is ultimately merciless. Although Umno supports them now, Ling's victory, by hook or by crook, would finally convince Umno that it is better to forget about Lim, Chua and Ong simply because only those who control the organisation count in the general elections. What Umno offers is not love or compassion, but purely self-preservation and self-protection.

It is time to strike again at Ling's faction which is unpopular in the community at large, although they control the newspapers.
