This is in response to the letter 'Please do not talk about things you don't know' (Nov 23). Questions or comments about one's religion should be welcome in the context of our multicultural and multi-ethnic society towards a better understanding of all.

How are we to trust each other if we can't even state our misgivings and fears? Are we all supposed to tiptoe around each other whenever religious differences get in the way? Surely we can learn to be more open-minded and tolerant, even towards the perceived 'ignorance' of fellow citizens of different faiths?
