FJ Wang's article 'The problem is in the interpretation' (Nov 28) raised some points on interpreting religious texts. However, the writer included women liberationist in the text, equaling women with Osama bin Laden and other extremist interpreters.

I find this very offensive and parochial. The writer obviously thinks that equality between men and women is a joke. The writer believes women cannot dress as she pleases as it may be an invitation to rapists. Don't forget that women in conservative clothes have been raped, too. The culprits are men who have no control over their libido.

The writer indicates that women are in actual fact not equal. I hope women do not take this insecure writer - who, if he's a man obviously has a very small head - seriously.
