I completely agree with Khairil Yusof ('LRT bailouts - public taken for a ride', Dec 1) that we must take more action to improve the public transport system in Kuala Lumpur.

We have the government and Proton Saga to thank for introducing new models every few months and the low loan rates that put so many cars on our roads.

The government should seriously do something about the number of single-occupancy cars. Those who do not need a car to do their job, should not drive to work. More comfortable and reliable buses should be introduced for them instead.
