Let business be business
I agree with Tony Chew ('Where do we draw the line?' Dec 10). As long as the businesses EPF invests in are legitimate companies registered in Malaysia, there should not be a problem with it.
If we don't draw a line here, others may argue that companies that produce birth-control products, such as Durex, are 'sinful', because some religions prohibit their followers from such forms of birth control.
Depending on the interpretations, many subjects could be 'sinful' from the perspective of certain religions. There were incidents in India where the upper caste students refused to use the test equipment in the university lab because the test equipment had been touched by the lowest caste students (Untouchables) .
It might even get down to us not being able to drink water from the river because fish copulate in it.
The point is, let business be business.
