The open brazenness and the way the civil service is working hand-in-glove with their political masters only goes to show that nothing has been learnt from the verdict of the people last March 2008. The Malaysians have a unique way of showing politicians that they mean business.

First it will be a light warning then, followed by a stern warning and finally it will be followed with a complete sack. That is what the people will be waiting for when the by elections which have been scheduled take place.

The respect for the institutions of government, the organs of state and most of all the rights of the people have been totally disregarded by the regime because they believe that it is their right to ensure that the doctrine of Hanya satu pilihan is the mantra for which every Malaysian should subscribe to.

The hegemony that comes from this will come to an end one fine day - it may be very soon or it may take time but it will soon come to an end. The vast and growing number of Malays who think out of the box and want to be treated as equals in every way is becoming very evident.

On one hand we are seeing these elitist leaders joining hands with the PAP Youth of Singapore and playing a round of golf and at the same time we see the same leaders who belittle the overthrown PAS leadership of Perak by saying that they are in cahoots with the DAP.

Therefore it is alright if these elitist leaders of the federal government regime pander to the wants of the Singaporean leaders from the PAP but it is not alright for PAS to work with our local DAP. This continued hegemony and hoodwinking of the people has gone on for far to long for the people to be accepting the same old rhetoric of losing power to the Non-Malays.

If the elitist group of the regime were to pander to the wants of the Singaporeans whom are made up of mostly ethnic Chinese who have family ties here, it is perfectly alright but the concept of PAS cooperating with the Chinese from the DAP will never be accepted.

The Singaporeans are slowly taking over all the prime real estate in Johor Baru, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and are now fast encroaching into the Klang valley. Therefore. from what the normal layman can decipher here is that it will be alright if it were Singaporeans but not the locals.

The progressive lot know of this hoodwinking as it is happening right before their eyes but when a genuine effort is made for harmonious tolerance by PAS and its coalition partners where all Malaysians irrespective of race can have a fair share of the Malaysian sun, it becomes a ‘threat’ to the regime.

This continued propaganda and indoctrination is what the Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini were doing during their glory years in the late 1930s till the start of the second World War. These regimes eventually failed and this is what is going to happen to the current regime at the federal level of our government today if leaders do not learn to respect the wishes of the people.

As one would always put it, the ‘boiling cauldron effect’ is coming and it will come sooner than we would expect it. The young did not bother to vote those days but the young today have traveled and come to a conclusion that it is not that easy to simply migrate.

This bare fact has made many young ones realise that it is easier said than done when it comes to migrating. The question is ‘why must we go, when this is our country?’ Did the African Americans give up and go back to Africa when they could not get through to the policy makers during their trying years of the civil rights movement? If they had done so, we would not have seen the reality of Barack Hussein Obama today.

Similarly, the South Africans fought hard to dismantle apartheid in their homeland and as a result of that we see that they have come to a stage today where they are looked at by other African nations for leadership.

The young here have observed for a long time thinking that politics is for the old folks and not wanting to participate, but the situation has drastically changed over the years and they realise that if we want change we have got to partake in the process. Hence, we see a voter change pattern, were bullying, threats and thuggish behavior advocated by the regime is only going to be replied via the ballot box.

PAS is making changes and is being looked upon as the Malay party which we can trust. It's bold initiative to allow a non-Muslim woman of Indian ethnicity to stand on its ticket for a state seat in the last elections is a clear indication that all the races are beginning to trust them as the best alternative that we can look towards for leadership.

Proposing another Indian candidate for the state seat of Bukit Selambau to contest on its ticket goes to show that PAS is serious about changes. This worries the regime at the federal level and hence all the intimidation and silly moves using the state apparatus is being made right before our eyes.

The courts may want to free themselves from the shackles of the executive but that day has yet to come. It will not be surprising to note that a regime-friendly judge will be appointed to hear the case of Menteri Besar Nizar vs Menteri Besar Zambry and the same will go for the second sodomy case of Anwar Ibrahim when it is successfully transferred to the High Court.

What that transpired 11 years ago will see itself repeated in a new episode with new characters but the same story line.

The regime fails to understand that when they talk about their lineage and ancestry which they claim is pure, the opposite is the true before our eyes. The crossbreeds are the ones who are flourishing using all facilities that are provided by the state for their upward advancement at the expense of the vast majority to whom it is actually targeted to benefit.

For a start the regime does not feel comfortable with the opposition talking about a Malaysian Malaysia, ‘PAS For All’ and ‘Ketuanan Rakyat’ as the people are slowly beginning to see that by being treated equally, the chances of advancement and upward mobility are created easily. Once that is done, the sense of respect that you have earned what you have worked hard for comes within you. This is what the new voters want and are seeing.

A ticket today is not a ticket to riches but a ticket to become a representative of the people to uphold their rights. The people are interested about policies, about education, about the management of economic opportunities and most of all, about being given a fair chance under the Malaysian sun regardless of the colour of your skin or the faith which you believe in.

The younger voters have finally learnt that blind allegiance only leads to more tyranny by generations of leaders who come from only one regime and who assume that it is their birth right to rule without question. The voters of today know that it is their fault of putting these leaders there in the first place and hence they would like to see change every term.

The strong-arm tactics, threats, harassment, intimidation and finally huge monetary gains which seem to be a foolproof method for the regime to get its way may buy some time but the people are watching; what they want to see is an elected representative who is true to his word and has a heart for his constituents.

For this to happen, humility must come naturally which PAS leaders have a lot as they fear only God and no one else. The mockery that is happening and being witnessed by all today is and will come to an end soon.

The continued arrogance and insistence on being recognised as the only choice is fast losing its appeal. The practice of ‘gutter politics’ where women are still perceived as sex objects after having fought so long for equality and a right to be represented in Parliament and the state assemblies, has come to a point where if the women were to sit back and accept it as fate, their voice may be silenced forever.

If all it takes is an assessment of what you wear during sleep; the women of Malaysia will never be able to achieve equality in representation because all the opponent has to do is to strip them naked and all those years of struggle and hard work will come to naught.

The response should be, naked or not, women will not give up; the answer will lie in the ballot box.

This continued arrogance and tyranny must come to an end. We must only blame ourselves if we do not exercise the right to vote and if we give up that right, we can't blame those who continue to lord over us.
