On If truth be told, Najib can't be PM

Pakac Luteb: Former US President George Bush believed that he and his cronies were

destined to rule the world because they are Christians.

They believe Christians are destined to rule the world. Now, Rosmah thinks Najib is destined to rule Malaysia.

Thanks to George Bush, we have seen the disaster that happens when a leader believes it's their ‘destiny' to rule.

Such a leader does not listen to the rakyat ; they see the rakyat as merely an obstacle in their way to doing what is their ‘destiny' to do.

Let's not have such disaster repeat in Malaysia. Say ‘Tak Nak!' to Rosmah and Najib.

And please don't say the Umno general assembly will ‘elect' Najib. It's ‘appoint' Najib. It can't be an election or contest when there is only one candidate.

Having only one candidate is like a communist dictatorship such as North Korea.

Soon Malaysia will sink that low unless you, the rakyat prevents it.

Peter Ooi: Zaid should be congratulated for a speech made up of questions that have been boggling the minds of most Malaysians.

It has been noticed by almost all Malaysians that Najib rarely, if at all, explains or answers allegations leveled against him.

Zaid did a very good job of detailing them in his speech.

But Zaid missed out the challenge of Fauzi Muda of PKR Perak to Najib to take the former to court for allegedly being offered RM50 million to jump ship.

Neither has Najib denied meeting him. In fact, Fauzi's meeting with Najib was later confirmed.

As one writer had written here in one of the comments, if wild allegations are leveled against Lee Kuan Yew, he or she would have been sued to the tune of millions in damage.

Najib should follow Lee's example if he (Najib) wants to be a great and respected leader.

Peter Yew: Zaid Ibrahim spoke for millions of concerned Malaysians in words many of us don't know how to articulate but that are stuck between our hearts and our lips.

Now that they have been spoken, we ask if anything useful will ever come forth? Or will his words just slide away like water off a duck's back?

I appeal to the King and to those in power, including Najib Abdul Razak, to search their hearts on the issues raised.

Only Najib knows if he is morally qualified to be the prime minister for Malaysia at this crucial time.

Only Najib knows if he indeed has any reason to disqualify himself from this post.

Think ahead for the good of the nation and not for any other motive. Remember that history has a funny way of remembering misdeeds as clearly as the good ones.

Shookry Gani: Zaid raised some points that must be proven by law.

He is a lawyer so please come out and spend time researching and unfolding the truth instead of giving profound talks at luncheons and overseas.

If he is so clever and so full of virtue, why not fight and be the next prime minister?

I would like to see him perform in light of the present Malaysian multiracial predicament.

Talk is not what will achieve results; only actions and positive ones for a better Malaysia will. Do it, Zaid. Do not just be an orator.

I don't agree to this comment about the point that there is no evidence.

I think it is more correct to say that the links to possible evidences are not being pursued by the authorities and investigated independently.

Questions linked to:

- the private investigator's statutory declarations and disappearance;

- the deleting of immigration's records;

- the police officer Musa's role in this;

- the SMS exchange between Najib and Abdual Razak Baginda's lawyer;

- the indifferent attitude of both the prosecutions and the defence towards the rumoured Altantuya, Razak Baginda and Najib photo;

- the whys of the outbursts by Razak Baginda and his wife in court;

- the source and authorisation of the use of C4;

- the meeting of Najib and the IGP to discuss the arrest and charging of Razak Baginda as mentioned in the abovementioned SMS exchange;

- the cautioned statement by one of the accused Sirul:

- many, more.

As long as there are no independent investigations into all these links to clear up all the question marks, the public's perception will be that the case has not been solved convincingly.

And, therefore, the claim that ‘there is no evidence to tie him' cannot be fair and true.

Timmy: But as we know over the years, Mahathir has been good at everything except one which he admitted himself sometime ago:

‘I make a habit of choosing the wrong people perhaps...'

So now, with the same habit, he has chosen Najib to lead. That should hint of something, right people?
