English newspapers

New Straits Times and the Star reported on the new batch of leaders who had taken over in the three wings of Umno - Khairy Jamaluddin (Umno Youht), Shahrizat Abdul Jalil (Wanita) and Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin (Puteri).

Malay newspapers

Both Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian also led with the election of the new leaders in the three Umno wings.

Chinese newspapers

All the Chinese newspapers Oriental Daily, Nanyang Siang Pau, Sin Chew Daily and China Press also headlined Khairy, Shahrizat and Rosnah's successful bid to lead their respective Umno wings.

Tamil newspapers

And not surprisingly, all three Tamil newspapers ( Makkal Osai, Malaysia Nanban and Tamil Nesan ) also front paged Khairy Shahrizat and Rosnah's victory.

Editorial

New Straits Times opined that Umno needs internal strengthening measures and bold visions to put the party back on track.

Utusan Malaysia stated that leaders of Umno today would be leaders of the nation tomorrow.

Berita Harian felt stated that the people were waiting to witness Umno rising again.

Sin Chew Daily commented that Umno should persist on reformation and focus on the future of the party.

Nanyang Siang Pau opined that Umno must change their mindset and implement reforms to continue surviving.

Oriental Daily highlighted that former Umno Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein raised the golden keris to face level and kissed it at the Umno assembly.

Malaysia Nanban stated the incoming Umno president Najib Abdul Razak's comments on the teaching of Mathematics and Science in English augured well with the Indian community.

Tamil Nesan hoped that the police force would continue to achieve more accolades in conjunction with the forces' 202nd anniversary.
