The New Strait Times focused on the Federal Court's lifting of the suspension of Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir and six BN exco members, allowing them to attend the state assembly.

The Star highlighted former Penang Deputy Chief Minister (1) Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin's resignation as the assemblyperson for Penanti, prompting a fresh by-election in the state constituency.

Malay newspapers

Both Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian led with the report of the Federal Court's decision to allow Zambry and his exco members to return to the Peral state assembly.

Chinese newspapers

Nanyang Siang Pau, Sin Chew Daily, China Press and Oriental Daily News all led with the report of Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin's resignation.

They also featured Selangor exco member Elizabeth Wong's return to work after a two-month leave following a scandal relating to her semi-nude photographs being leaked.

Tamil newspapers

Tamil Nesan and Makkal Osai led with MIC president S Samy Vellu's assurance yesterday that the party would remain in prime minister Najib's cabinet. There were talks earlier of the party pulling out after it was not given extra slots in the cabinet.

Malaysia Nanban led with a sad tale of double tragedy for an Indian family in Penang where the news of a son's killing caused the mother to die of a heart attack.

The New Straits Times analysed the aptness, feasibility and historical context of the ‘One Malaysia' concept advocated by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Berita Harian commented that the abolishment of the Entrepreneurial and Co-operative Development Ministry will not jeopardize its original goal of supporting Malay entrepreneurs as its functions have been absorbed into other ministries.

Nanyang Siang Pau stated that the Chinese currency Ren Min Bi was quickly becoming the new international currency.

Sin Chew Daily expressed hopes that the Judicial Appointments Commission will improve the credibility of the Malaysian judiciary.

Malaysia Nanban hoped that prime minister Najib would keep up his promises to look after the Indian community even though there was only one Indian minister in his cabinet.

Tamil Nesan also commented on Najib's One Malaysia concept, stating that the people would accept and support the notion.
