New Straits Times and Star headlined the Kuala Lumpur High Court ruling that declared Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin the lawful menteri besar of Perak.

Judge Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahim also ruled that the removal of a menteri besar can only be done as and when the state assembly passes a motion of no-confidence.

Star further reported that the judgment will deepen the crisis in Perak.
