A cheeky remark by Federal Territories Minister Raja Nong Chik to Titiwangsa MP Dr Lo'Lo' Ghazali has earned the wrath of the PAS women leaders.

The incident occurred on May 20 when Lo'Lo' approached Raja Nong, who was making a ‘surprise visit' to Keramat Mall which is within her Titiwangsa constituency.

dr lolo ceramah 050308 stager According to Lo'Lo', she confronted Raja Nong over his lack of courtesy by not informing her of the ‘surprise visit' but she was met with an unsavory reply.

"I go everywhere and I don't need to tell you all. Now I'm going to the toilet, should I tell you? Do you want to follow me?" said Raja Nong, according to Lo'Lo'.

Lo'Lo' said that she was "shocked and stunned" by Raja Nong's reaction and was embarrassed because the latter's comments were audible to his large entourage consisting of ministry and City Hall officials.

"As a woman with honour, and as a Muslim who respects herself, I felt insulted and cannot accept such words coming from a minister," she told a press conference at the PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

‘Apology not enough'

She said that Raja Nong's comments bordered on sexual harassment and his conduct was unbecoming of minister.

Though Raja Nong offered Lo'Lo' an apology at another function the same day, she said that it was important for her to publicise the issue to prevent it from happening again.

Lo'Lo' strongly urged Raja Nong, and other ministers, to be subjected to gender sensitivity classes.

PKR women's wing chief Zuraida Kamaruddin, who was at the press conference, said that Raja Nong should apologise to all women in Malaysia.

Other figures at the press conference were PAS women's wing chief Nuridah Salleh and women's wing information chief Athirah Al-Jundi.
