PBDS: Tajem and Masing join forces, Moggie isolated
It is now confirmed s protege
Although Moggie has indicated he would leave it to the party to decide on his successor, however he has also said that he has his own preference but stopped short of naming the person.
Speculation is that Moggie would like someone like Joseph Salang, the member of parliament for Julau and the party treasurer and considered as his protege, occupying one of the top leadership posts.
Salang has however issued a statement that he does not aspire to be party president.
The recent Sibu gathering has shown the fissure within PBDS, with senior party leaders like Sng and Masing staying away from it. The reasons for Moggie and Masing going their separate ways has been a subject of much speculation within local political circles.
One thing is for sure — Masing has the strong backing of Sng who once backed Tajem to the hilt when the latter defended his deputy president post against a challenge from Masing.
Moggie was not immediately available for comments.
